Apple iPad 2 launches in India tomorrow, Prices Announced
Apple is finally launching the new iPad 2 in India and 11 other countries in the next two days. Japan would be getting it first on April 28 whereas India, Hong Kong, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and UAE will be getting it on April 29. This news takes much of India by surprise as it took little over a month and only a small number of corporate affairs after its US launch for the iPad 2 to launch in Indian soil whereas the first generation of iPad took 9 months before we could actually see the gadget in our own markets.
China will also be having its share of fun but will have to wait for iPad 2 till May 6. All this is more than a small blow for the new Indian iPad owners which was launched only a month ago, as they never suspected it to launch so soon.
Now what hurts most is the price. Unlike its US twin, iPad 2 in India is slightly more expensive than the model it replaces. The first generation of iPad was launched at Rs. 27,900 and was later dropped to Rs. 24,500. The iPad 2 starts at Rs. 29,500 and goes all the way up to Rs. 46,900 which is a hefty sum to pay for a tablet.
The following are the maximum retail prices of all the models.

Sony Ericsson Announces W8 - Its First Android Powered Walkman Handset
Before the advent of Android and iOS world dominance, Sony Ericsson was popular among the general users for its Walkman and Cybershot range of handsets.
When Android started gaining ground, Sony Ericsson started focusing on its Android powered handsets available the Xperia brand. The company still released some Walkman branded phones, but there were below par.
Today, Sony Ericsson is going to change all that with the release of its first Android powered Walkman phone – the W8. The W8 is similar to the Xperia X8, except for some fancy colors and the Walkman logo.
The W8 features a 3-inch touch-screen display with HVGA (320×480) resolution. The phone is powered by a 600 MHz processor, and packs 168MB of RAM. The back of the phone sports a 3.2MP camera.
Sadly, the W8 will run Android 2.1 Éclair which is downright disappointing! I highly doubt Sony Ericsson will treat this handset with some Froyo or Gingerbread love. The specs of the handset are nothing to write home about, but hopefully the audio quality of the handset will make up for it.
The Sony Ericsson Walkman W8 will be available in India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and some other regions of the world by Q2 of 2011, in a bunch of colors.
Here is the official product page of the W8.
